Maria!

Hi, I’m

Maria Saied is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She provides therapy in both English and Arabic.

Maria works with children aged 10 and older, adolescents, and adults, including neurodivergent individuals. She supports clients navigating anxiety, depression, postpartum depression, stress, grief, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, self-harm, challenges with focus, and life transitions. Grounded in a person-centred approach and working from culturally responsive and trauma-informed perspectives, Maria draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She recognizes that therapy is not one-size- fits-all and adapts her approach to each client’s needs, strengths, experiences, and goals.

Let’s Get Personal

Outside the therapy room, Maria enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog. She loves travelling, cooking, getting lost in a good novel, and blasting music every chance she gets. She also treasures quality time with her family and friends and appreciates the simple, everyday moments they share.

I have always been curious about the stories people carry…

I’ve always been drawn to people, their stories, the experiences that shape them, and the emotions that often live quietly beneath the surface. I think there is something incredibly meaningful about understanding not just what someone is experiencing, but how they came to experience the world the way they do.

Moving countries shaped the way I understand identity and belonging…

Moving from Egypt to Canada as a child gave me an early understanding of how deeply culture, family, identity, and belonging can shape us. I learned that finding your place isn’t always simple, especially when you are navigating different expectations, values, or versions of yourself.

That experience made me appreciate how powerful it can be to have spaces where you don’t have to explain, minimize, or change parts of yourself to belong. Where you can simply feel seen, understood, and accepted as you are.

Therapy gave me a way to turn that curiosity into connection…

I became a therapist because I wanted to create that kind of space for others. A place where you can speak openly, explore what is happening beneath the surface, and understand yourself with a little more compassion and clarity.

For me, therapy isn’t about someone telling you who to be or what you should do. It’s about getting curious together about the experiences, thoughts, relationships, and patterns that have shaped you, while figuring out what you want to carry forward and what might no longer be serving you.

Being a therapist now…

My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and approachable. You don’t need to arrive with the perfect words or even know exactly what you want to work on. We can figure that out together.

I’ll meet you with compassion, while also gently challenging you when certain thoughts or patterns may be keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll build on the strengths you already have and work toward meaningful, manageable changes that feel authentic to you.
